In a first half where the boys were right up for keeping their winning run going and a Captain who was starting to shout at his player’s, we put pressure on Brislington straight from the start and forced some early corners. Our midfield was playing well and George had a couple of early shots well held by their keeper. Next to try his luck was the Birdman also well dealt with by their keeper. From a corner Ryan hits a 25 yard screamer back at their keeper who deals with it well. On a rare Brislington attack our (captain) Brandon deal’s with it and launches a long goal kick which is well held up by Dan Bowden. Dan in turn finds Eli with a pass and Eli cuts in from the left to unleashes a great right foot drive into the corner of the net 1-0 to Fry’s. Half time 1-0 to us.

 

2^nd half 

We carried on the second half the way we finished the first, our midfield are now playing some nice passing moves and creating chances for each other.  Owen was very unlucky with an attempted lob of the keeper. Eli has another good run and shot but this time hits the post. We continue to pressure Brislington and force a corner which Owen delivers and George comes on to the ball flicks it up with his right foot and hits in to the roof of the net with his left to score a great second goal for the team. We continue to look for more goals and the Birdman has another good shot well saved. Game finishes 2-0 to us.

 

M.OM George Gitsham ; who was all over the pitch and scored the second goal to make the game safe.

 

 

‘B’ Team

In a evenly matched first half where both teams started well Callum was the first to test the Brislington keeper with a first time shot after a good pass by Kaka.  Brislington came straight back at us and their no.5 fires in a good shot which beats Ellis but Josh is on hand to clear off the line to keep the  scores level. Josh is playing really well at the back. Dan (captain) Payne starts taking control of the midfield battles and finds Tyler with a good pass. Tyler makes a good run and shot but the keeper saves well again with Fry’s  well on top at this stage. We keep searching all the way to the half-time whistle but can’t find away past their keeper 0-0 at half-time.

 

2^nd half

We start the second half still searching for the goal our play deserves. Tyler receives a pass on the half way line and turns and runs at the defender. He beats him for pace but the keeper makes another superb save at full stretch to keep it out(well played Brislington keeper). Fry’s are now well on top and forcing the pace of the game. Then with about 10mins to go Brislington have a good attack of their own and score the sucker punch goal 1-0 to Brislington. No matter how hard the boys try they can’t force the equaliser and lose 1-0.   

 

M.O.M. Dan (kaka) Payne ; he kept taking the fight to Brislington all game and worked so hard for the team.
